Uncertain times, 1900 to 1935

The year 1899, saw the Department of Mines report that payable ore had become difficult to find.

As companies came and went, Frank Gardner continued to have title to the 1033 acres on which the mines operated.  Mining at Lucknow lapsed in the 1920s, despite some interest in certain shafts, mainly south Lucknow. Most of the major mines had severe water problems through disuse.
